We are excited to announce that on the 19 November 2024 the Heywood Men’s Shed won the 2024 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards in the category of Health Volunteer Team of The Year, following a nomination from Heywood Rural Health.
The Men’s Shed were nominated for their tireless contribution to Heywood Rural Health and the wider Heywood community. The team of volunteers have taken it upon themselves to truly integrate into the lives of our Aged Care Residents and community patients to contribute to their health and wellbeing, add meaning to their daily lives and make a difference to those around them.
The Victorian Public Healthcare awards acknowledge the achievements of Victoria’s healthcare workers, volunteers and public health services, and to be selected as a finalist is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the volunteer team at the Heywood Men’s Shed. Congratulations to all the team at the Heywood Men’s Shed.
Congratulations also goes to Terry Sparrow (Heywood Men’s Shed President) who was inducted into the Victorian volunteer Honour roll with 37 years of service of voluntary service, this award is to recognise dedication to the healthcare sector and the people of Victoria.
