We are incredibly proud to share that Joy Savill was inducted into the Victorian Health Volunteer Honour Roll at the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards held on Wednesday, 14 October by Jenny Atta, Department of Health Secretary at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Representing Heywood Rural Health at this special occasion, Joy was joined by Leigh Parker (CEO), Ros Jones (Volunteer Coordinator), Karyn Cook (Board Director) and Lauren Newman (Workplace Coach).
The Victorian Health Volunteer Honour Roll recognises and celebrates volunteers who have dedicated 30 years or more of service to Victoria’s public health system. It honours the remarkable contributions of long-serving volunteers whose commitment enriches the lives of patients, residents, families and healthcare staff across the state.
Joy’s induction is a truly outstanding achievement and a testament to her unwavering commitment to our community. Having dedicated an extraordinary 56 years of voluntary service to Heywood Rural Health, Joy has made a lasting impact through her generosity, compassion and tireless support.
Whether spending time with residents, assisting staff with administrative tasks, delivering meals to those in need, or simply offering a helping hand wherever it is needed, Joy consistently goes above and beyond in service of others.
Since its establishment in 2015, Joy has also been a valued member of the Consumer Advisory Committee, providing important community perspectives that help shape and improve our services. In the recent past she supported our Quality Department by conducting resident and consumer surveys, helping ensure the voices of those we care for are heard and reflected in ongoing service improvements.
Joy embodies the true spirit of volunteering. Her dedication, kindness and passion have touched countless lives over more than five decades, and we are honoured to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
Congratulations, Joy, and thank you for your extraordinary service to Heywood Rural Health and our community.
