The second stage of Heywood Rural Health’s (HRH) latest strategic plan is underway, with residents encouraged to share their views on what matters most to them in a health service.
The plan – which will span between three and five years – is being developed by Melbourne-based consultant Claire Edwards, who was appointed by the HRH board earlier this year.
With the first stage complete, Ms Edwards is again welcoming Heywood and district residents to have their say.
Residents are invited to attend the Heywood Bakery on Monday and Tuesday between 11:30am and 1:30pm to chat to Ms Edwards and discuss where they would like the health service to be in the near future.
HRH chief executive officer Leigh Parker said the service received more than 150 responses from the community in stage one of the planning and hoped to see a similar uptake in stage two.
“We have a pretty special service here in Heywood,” he said.
“It’s here for our whole community so it’s important they have their say in its future.
“Any suggestion is welcome and anyone is welcome to give one – whether its community groups, businesses or residents, we want to hear from you.”
Once stage two is complete the plan will go to the board to be endorsed before being approved by the health Department.
